Open Sesame Moment

Unknown to many, the term “open sesame” actually comes from an explosive agricultural event that spreads sesame seeds. But what do sesame seeds look like? Well, the sesame plant itself has pods.  Pods of tiny seeds. Triggered by the heat from the sun, these pods have a clever way of dispersing their seeds.

Boom! Splatta-splotta!  That’s what you hear when the pods mature as they burst open at explosive speeds: somersaulting, ninja-kicking and paragliding with animated acceleration. At 30 kilometers per hour, these seeds eject out of their pods, landing several feet away then germinate very quickly after, multiplying further. This cinematic burst of seeds is what is called the Open Sesame Moment and the signature path each seed takes to fly and flourish is called the Open Sesame Way.
