A global citizen at heart, I attended six high schools across the US and the Caribbean before pursuing advanced studies in Cyber Policy at Harvard.
At the age of 14, I became what I could only understand to be the debt exchange. A school far away owed my parents' bookstore a bit of money. In exchange, I was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to fly back and forth twice per week, 80 times over 8 months.

Little did I know that each plane ride would turn out to be an opportunity to learn from the wealthy in the seat next to me, gaining insights about money, wealth, and life 30,000 feet in the air.
Open Sesame is a summary of the conversation notes I jotted down on how to make money without money. Notes which started as scribbles on the back of napkins, envelopes, business cards but eventually found harbour in a pocket notebook I call my Money Without Money (MWM) journal. This journal became a treasure trove of insights into making money without money, one conversation at a time.
Working in finance and technology for over two decades, I can say these secrets and strategies I recorded still ring true today. What was meant to be a personal keepsake of questions, quotes and curiosities, Open Sesame has turned out to captivate minds through a fascinating journey that opens new pathways to financial independence and connects the dots between wisdom, wealth and life fulfilment. Open Sesame! How to Make Money Without Money is a signature collection of books guided by a treasure map where I share my passion for financial literacy in the digital age.

Professionally, I could be described as a thought leader in digital economics, cyber risk and strategy. Over my career as a central banker at the Bank of Jamaica, I’ve served in multiple leadership roles—from monetary and financial statistics to balance of payments, AML risk analysis, and building cyber resilience across the financial sector. Known to many as “El-G,” I’ve authored works on international money transfers and project management, breaking down complex money issues into insights that drive meaningful change.

Giving back, I lecture in strategy, cybersecurity, risk, and project management, and I run a listening expert practice where I guide couples through financial challenges. My faith and family anchor me—I’m a devoted Christian, husband, Deacon and Justice of the Peace. I live in the Caribbean with my wife, Kimberly, and our three children.

Everything I do, from leadership to lifelong learning, reflects my mantra: “Empathy is the beginning of excellence, and discipline brings precision to achieving your vision.”
